Health examinations

About health examinations

The AZSA Health Insurance Society offers health examinations by age category once each year (April-March). Insured persons may get either individual health examinations (complete check-ups or lifestyle related disease health screenings), periodic health examinations conducted jointly with employers (your employer will provide information on these exams), or traveling gynecological health examinations (for women who are dependents) at no charge. The AZSA Health Insurance Society will cover the cost of these exams. (The employer will also cover certain costs.)
The same health examinations are available for dependents aged 18 and older.
Note that insured persons or dependents aged 18-34 who wish to undergo a complete check-up can do so using 8,000 Cafeteria Points.
Health examinations are available only at the roughly 320 external medical care institutions nationwide with which the AZSA Health Insurance Society has concluded contracts.

Health examination courses

The basic health examination courses will change from fiscal 2016.

  • Youth health examinations have been discontinued.

  • The ages of those eligible for complete check-ups have also changed.
  • Those aged 35-39 may choose either complete check-ups or lifestyle related disease health screenings.
